This took me so long to read so I feel like I can’t fairly rate it. The first half was hard to get into but once I finally read the second half I felt more inclined to continue to pick it up to see how it ended. The book comes full circle at the end which I liked a lot.

I really cannot tell if I loved this or hated it. The narrator is a largely bitter & rather delusional individual who despises adulthood & the general mundanity of it & everything she said felt quite cathartic and made me feel trashy at the same time. And I mean, she’s right being an adult & working sucks. The only way I can describe how I feel about this book is that I had the same feeling when I first finished My Year of Rest & Relaxation & that grew on me.

Pick this one up if you loved My Year of Rest and Relaxation by Ottessa Moshfegh. Same energy, sharply observant, and the perfect amount of time to spend with these characters.

A very quick and enjoyable read. Some memorable passages, but at the end of the day nothing special.
