FINALLY I connected with these characters! Which feels like a BIG deal when you consider I didn't really register with any of them besides Braith in the earlier books. But the story finally came full circle and ACK everyone grew so much and yes. Big old yes.

A great book! It was engaging from beginning to end with a beautiful story line. There are several heavy topics but they are handled in a touching and understanding way.
Moderate: Torture, Violence, and War
Minor: Rape

This book completely blew away my expectations. It was the perfect conclusion to this trilogy. I’m not so good at writing reviews but Diggy’s story arc was perfect. I had forgotten a bit of what happened in the last book because I’ve read so many books since I read the second book. If I had remembered I might’ve put off reading this book for a little while since the anniversary of my own trauma was a few days ago. But I am stubborn so since I got started with the book I was determined to finish. It was very difficult and brought up a lot of feelings. But this quote from Diggy is the most powerful thing I have ever read (besides something from the Bible of course)
“We can’t control the things that happen to us. We can’t even decide how those things will shape us...... I can’t control what was done to me yesterday or last year or four years ago. But I can decide who I want to be tomorrow. I am not a result of the things that have happened to me. I am not defined by the ways others have harmed me, used me, broken me. They don’t get to win anymore. I decide how to move forward. Tomorrow belongs to me”
I never thought a Christian fantasy book could bring about healing for me in that area. I am so thankful for this book.

Has it really been three months since I read this book?
Yes.
Has it taken me this long to actually gather coherent thoughts other than YOU NEED TO READ THIS and various levels of screaming at the author?
Also yes.
Hooo boy. Here goes.
Tannie and our favorite gang of story pirates are back, and they’re on a mission. One that could get ALL of them killed. No pressure, right?
Braith is fighting for her throne, and there may also be some drama involving a boy...
And have I mentioned the crew on the mission includes a rather volatile weaver who has some PTSD issues?
(Lets put it this way, there was a lot of screaming of a particular name, followed by the word NO from me at the author, and it wasn’t always good screaming

The last book of the trilogy... and it was a good, solid conclusion.
Light hearted - nothing too strenuous. Easy listening and easy to follow.
A good look at character emotions following events - chapters written from characters pov.
It's going to be strange now, as these books have been with me a long time. What to listen to next...

A sweet ending to the series, with a few unexpected twists, and a surprising amount of dark themes, tastefully dealt with, for a young adult novel.
