I went into this book knowing nothing about it! From the back of the book I thought it was a thriller, but it wasn't it was a romance with some different plots I didn't see coming!

This book pulled on nearly every single emotion I had! I felt sadness, anger, happy, I even felt disgusted a couple of times throughout the book!

Not everyone likes CoHo, but her books hot me into reading and now I have branched out to different book genres for example: fantasy, fantasy romance, thriller, murder mystery and memoirs for that I am thankful!

Are 3 stars too courteous? The book wasn’t awful, but wasn’t anything to write home about. I’m also not the biggest CoHo fan, so maybe that was my first mess up.

The angst of the mid teens took me back down memory lane. The sentiment was very messy and very relatable. I really admired Merit’s character development and especially her courage to bring to surface the internal suffering through the family letter.
The horny teen scenes randomly scattered ruined it for me. Merit’s development is strong enough, but i guess it wouldn’t be a CoHo book without it, right?

I’m a big fan of Colleen Hoover books, but this one was not my favorite. That being said, it started out not holding my interest and then eventually became 4 star worthy. I liked the coming of age story even though it was hard to relate to a teen main character. A good read nonetheless!

This was my 13th Colleen Hoover book to read, so I think by now I can definitively say that no one writes a messed up family better than she does! And wow this one was a veritable MESS! Entertaining read as everyone sought out their own form of redemption and understanding. I think the author hit the nail on the head about how so much family drama is rooted in incorrect assumptions about the feelings of others. Also, I love how Colleen always is so clever with her titles. The moment you discover where the title comes from is always a delight.
