A few favorite quotes:

“Not every mistake deserves a consequence. Sometimes the only thing it deserves is forgiveness.”

“And for future reference it’s FUCK YOU! Not BITCH YOU!”

Depression is one of those things that I think is super hard to write about, especially within a standalone novel. The character is harder to like or relate to and the resolution is never very realistic- I thought that Sagan had a good point about liking herself first, and that she wasn't very likeable (all absolutely true things); but then they end up together at the end after a couple days of her being more likeable and her just have a few good days? It felt rushed and incomplete to me.

"Not every mistake deserves a consequence. Sometimes the only thing it deserves is forgiveness."

4.5 stars for this book! It never fails, any time I read a Colleen Hoover book, I end up devouring it in a couple sittings and this book was no different. Be forewarned, there are lots of triggers in this book (depression, mental illness, suicide) and it's not the typical romance book that you'd see from Colleen Hoover. But I think that's what made me love this book so much.

I loved the previous books I read by Colleen Hoover, but this one just missed the mark for me.  I waited the entire book for something to happen, but all I really got from the story is that Merit's life is very non-traditional and that's about it.

By far my favorite Colleen Hoover book yet. None of the smut and all the raw emotion of being a teenage girl growing up in a complicated family.

TW: suicide, sexual abuse
