Couldn't really get into it, mostly I think because I wasn't in the right mood for it, nothing about it seemed bad
This was a delightful, powerful read. I can't wait for the next installment.
I was a little disappointed with the ending though. It was very abrupt, and it left me a little unsatisfied. Still, can't wait for the next book.
Also, not sure I completely understood the connection to the title...where did a Mirage come into play?

Loved it. I'm not a fan of romance and drama, but I fell in love with Amani, Idris and Maram.
It's one of the few Islamic books I've read and I love the worldbuilding, imagining perfectly islamic. It's just amazing.
Looking forward for the next book!

Mirage is a story of one girl becoming another and the writing does that so well. I could feel one voice become more and more like the other. However, there is a lot of inner monologue (not a fan). Although it's set in fictional space, the cultures and people present are so rich and alive. That was my favorite part of the book and I'll definitely be reading the rest of the series. (I listened to the audiobook and the recording team is great).

Okay, I loved this.
I didn't realize this was sci-fi when I first started so I was a little nervous, but I ended up invested in the story almost immediately.
The characters are amazing. The world is fascinating. The politics are complex and intriguing. They are traveling across planets/moons. There is romance and poetry.
I never knew what to expect and the ending was amazing. This was such a great read.

Mirage had light scifi elements that blended well with the world building, and there were gorgeous descriptions of the clothes that I loved. Amani's a fierce survivor, and she actually reminded me a bit of Padme in Star Wars. I wished Amani's family made more appearances, but the plot was compelling and there were so many high stakes for Amani to overcome.
I loved the Morrocan rep in this book, as well I as loved how a cruel character got more depth.
The writing too was really good, but I wasn't sold on the romance. IMO, it really didn't have to be there, I would prefer the love interests to just become close friends.
Who am I to judge, however?
