0.5/5 stars.

If there's one story trope I love, it is that of a hidden world that exists in parallel to a realistic one. An inverted version of London then that plays with folk tales and imagines its underground as a vast, incomprehensible maze is an intoxocating setting. Sadly, "Neverwhere" only ever scratches the surface of this idea, with a fairly uninteresting plot and flat characters that never truly hooked me. I still enjoyed my time with this quick and easy read, but it will fade from my mind just as quickly and easily as London Below does for the people of London Above.

bestie neil's debut novel!! and what a way to start your novel writing career!! incredible fantasy story about the people who fall through the cracks. never once makes fun of the homeless or disenfranchised, which could have been an easy route to go. the characters are so unique, i've never read about characters like these ones. richard is such a good main guy and door deserves the entire world. rip hunter u were sexy even tho u betrayed the team. i forgive u tho.

Richard is possibly the stupidest main character I’ve read in an adult book. He’s also toooooo relatable. I am Richard.
This book is like Alice in wonderland, the nutcracker, and Gregor the Overlander. It is very pure and, honestly, very simple. Yet, I still adore it.
Also, Gaiman writes really bad dialogue with no nuance at all, but it adds to the whole mood of the book.

Totally transported me - who knew I would actually want to enter the underbelly of London? But then again, I pretty much love anything by Gaiman - entertaining, quick paced, excellent character developmend. I especially loved Mr. Croup and Mr. Vandemar - extremely creepy and consistent characters. Surprised to see it was originally a tv series adapted into a book! Would recommend to those who like modern urban fantasy that is a quick read!

I really liked this book, which I was kind of surprised by as I did not like American Gods that much. Anyway, it was a great read and I recommend it to everyone!
