I finally got to read volume seven!

Notes:
-the first story was also in the Netflix animated series
-THIS IS THE TRESE BROTHERS ISSUE! Well, most of the Trese brothers since the eldest didn't get his own case. We got a glimpse of Carlos Trese back in volume three, case twelve.
-I want to see a case - a full-blown issue - where all the Trese siblings are working on the same case.
-just a thought: were there any Trese that wasn't in the evil-slaying business?
-MOAR, Sir Budjette. More.

The 7th volume is the best one so far in my opinion. I love how there's more background regarding the Trese Family in this one and I am looking forward to more history behind the family members. I am also loving the fact that the 7th volume hints on Alexandra Trese finally having an enemy of her own, the Moriarty to her Sherlock. I am looking forward to how this rivalry will unfold in the next volumes.

A great read, as always. ☺️ Easily readable in under an hour but it took me two days because honestly, I didn’t want it to end.

We get four new stories that dig deeper into the lore of both the world and the Trese family. The introduction of Alexandra Trese's siblings into the story was surprising but welcome. We also get more clues to the bigger arc of Trese itself. Shadow Witness is a strong addition to the Trese series. Budjette Tan and KaJo Baldisimo have me under their spell and honestly, there's no place I'd rather be.

Mini reviews for the individual stories:

13 Stations - A good, solid story. Immediately reintroduces Alexandra, the Kambal, and the world of Trese itself. As a frequent train commuter, this story is going to stick with me for a loooong time.

The Exorcism of Linda Blasco - Leaves Alexandra and enters the world of Sibling #1: Fr. Matthias Trese. An interesting point of view, seeing Alexandra's work done in a different manner. It reminds me of those exorcism horror films but I don't watch horror films so I can't really tell if the comparison holds. We also get our first glimpse of the Trese sibling dynamics. I thought Matt and his friends (the Kambal counterparts named Fr. Bronze and Fr. Alloy) might die but the trouble was resolved through a warranted deus ex machina of sorts.

Table for Three - I don't know which, between this story and The Exorcism of Linda Blasco, was more horrific. This starts with one case and ends with another. I'll be honest: this one was my least favorite (as much as it can be because this book is Superb). I was far more interested in the first case (which also had echoes of Hannibal with all the fancy food speak) even though it was also more gruesome. The second case of the story pales in comparison to all other stories.

The Madrid Gig - Ah, a heist story with supernatural elements. I thought falling even more in love with Trese was impossible, then they turn around and prove me wrong. This is another Trese sibling story, this time introducing heist guy Jonathan Trese (aka Jimmy) and Prof. Enrique Trese. I love Jonathan! He is such a fun character: he's cocky but also a huge dork (especially when he gives the puso ng saging guardian a thumbs up, my heart perhaps melted a bit). He looks and sounds like capital-T Trouble throughout this story but moreso in that sort-of cliffhanger ending. I also love the ambiguity of this story that also provides insight into the Trese family (although seen from Jimmy's perspective). I wonder what would happen if he, Matt, and Alex were in a room together...
