lighthearted relaxing medium-paced

Jess is a horrible main character, superficial, manipulative and acts like an immature horny teenager.

This is the first lesbian romance book I've ever read and it was so bad I'm incredibly hesitant to pick up another one.

I wanted so badly to like it, especially since I've only come out of the closet 2 years ago, but it was just so bad. I'm never reading any of her books again.

I can see how leaving Sydney for London after finding out your girlfriend cheating on you with your roommate could make someone grumpy. And Jess’s grumpiness is probably what I like best about her. Or rather the way it translates into dry wit. She could be the most annoying character but instead Clare Lydon managed to make her fun.

Another thing I really enjoyed was the relationship between Jess and her sister-in-law and roommate Kate, the banter between them, dyke buddy style.

Very enjoyable book, made even better by the narration (I wasn’t sure about Emily Bennet’s voice at first but ended loving it for this novel).

I liked that Jess was unapologetic about her sexuality. I also appreciated that it came back to bite her in the ass. This was a fun, if vapid read, but I will continue reading the other books in the series.

New guilty pleasure unlocked. Corny, cliché-filled, on-the-nose, and occasionally problematic, this is a quintisential rom com. Laugh out loud funny with full well-rounded characters. Loved the various London references - it's /terribly British darling/ as I can imagine some of the characters saying. My only gripes are that there are slightly too many characters and it's just that bit too long. But taking it for what it is, I am happily surprised I loved it so much. I might even be tempted to continue the collection...
