Well that book turned around.

I'm beginning to understand why people give books decimal point stars. I'm having a very hard time rating this book. But, the first 75% of this book, 1 star. Last 25%, 5 stars. Overall rating, 3.5 stars rounded down to a 3 for the purpose of a Goodreads rating.

I'm not gonna lie, for the first 75% of this book, I hated it. There were so many sex scenes, it seemed like that was all this book was going to be good for. I was reading this book as a buddy read and we all felt the same way. We almost DNF'd this book halfway in but, we decided to push through despite our initial feelings. I am glad we did.

Small spoiler.
SpoilerTate is so very insecure in herself to let a man like Miles push her around and to be honest, it kinda made me mad. While his behavior does end up getting explained, Tate doesn't deserve to be treated that way no matter how annoying she was.

It took me so long to get through this book because I just didn't like it at first. I think all the sex scenes in the first 75% of the book were 100% unnecessary to get the story and the point across. This is why I rated this book so low. But, today I decided to finish this book and everything turned around for me. The ending was great and definitely made up for it a little bit. It's definitely worth pushing through to make it to the last quarter of the book where everything is explained and the book gets bumped back up to (imo) 3 -closer to 4- stars. If it wasn't for the ending, I would have rated it 1 star.

HOW I RATE BOOKS (for reference):
5 stars: an amazing book. a book that will stay in my mind days, weeks, months later. typically an all-time favorite, although not always. Most likely to reread
4 stars: a great book, but is just missing that one thing to set it over the edge. would be somewhat likely to reread
3 stars: good, "meh" kind of book. was able to get through it and the story was okay, but not something I'd likely reread
2 stars: just no. a book I did not enjoy but was able to get through without DNFing
1 star: did not like it at all, was bored and couldn't get through it, DNF'd

Yawn. It felt like there was no plot and poor character development. The only thing we know about Tate is that she’s a nurse and has a brother. She lacked any sort of personality. She was so desperate for Miles. They had way too much chemistry for two people that didn’t really know each other or get to know each other. Miles was just hard to like. And then when he asked her to move in with her at the end? Like what? They are two strangers basically.

OMG 5/5 both in spice and in an all-around good read.

I don't even know how to start this post honestly.

Colleen Hoover is so raw both in the spicy scenes, but also with the suspense of not knowing if love is a possibility.

She goes back and forth between the past and present but mostly stays in the present. I found this read fascinating and the only book that has ever made me cry. The twists and turns throughout the book left me craving more. I was consistently holding my breath hoping that the ending would be one I wanted. I won't say if it was or not because everyone wants different things. However, if you pick this book up you won't be able to put it down. I would probably read this again which is very rare for me!
