Love all Peter May’s books set in Scotland. This is also very good but more of the traditional mystery novel.

I enjoy good mysteries that focuses on the characters, their interaction, and clues that aren't obvious yet they fit into the story. While the actual title of his first book in this series was "Dry Bones" rather than "Extraordinary People", it is the same book and well worth a first read. The character of Enzo is well developed, and while certainly not perfect, he is far from a caricature of an amateur detective. An interesting plot that has a somewhat unique progression. Enjoy!

This is the second book I have read by this author and won't be the last. I found it a very easy to read story that I couldn't put down. It's a mix between The Davinci Code and the movie National Treasure where the main character is travelling around France chasing clues to find the next bone remains and the next murderer. It has left me wanting to read the remaining books in the Enzo Macleod series! I received this book free from Goodreads first reads, and would happily have bought it had I not.

I liked this book for a few reasons, one being that it was literally a chase to find a man's corpse which was separated into pieces by a killer. Second being that each piece of the investigation lead to another piece in a very interesting and unexpected way. Third one being that things were happening on the side line whilst the main investigation was going on. This would have been a 5 star read if it weren't for the long chapters and for the main character not being such a terrible father. Good man but he made quite a few poor choices as a father. Otherwise this book was really great and it didn't take me too long to finish.

Enzo Macleod har ingått ett vad och ska lösa ett tio år gammalt mord. Med hjälp av ledtrådar som han hittar runt om i Frankrike, både över och under jord, närmar han sig mördaren. Det är en märklig historia som jag tyvärr inte riktigt kommer in i och inte heller kan engagerar mig i. En tidig bok, 2006, vilket kan förklara en del.
