even tho the main character is a men i really enjoyed this. of course the last pages drama so annoying but i do have good memories of it

as much as i loved the concept of this book, the execution was not as good

there were many things in this book that i had issues with:

1. the reason for the divorce - now i’ve never been married, but wanting a divorce in response to what happened just seemed like way too big of a jump and unnecessary. i spent more time than im willing to admit while reading this book trying to figure out if that was what actually lead to it or if i was missing a BIG piece of the puzzle. by the end of the book i still couldn’t figure it out

2. the FMC’s little sister - oh my GOD this girl pissed me off so much. i understand being loyal to your siblings and all, but someone please get this girl a dictionary so she can learn the real definition of “manipulator” because she was way too comfortable throwing it around like it was nothing. and don’t get me started on the million times she tried to relate his work at being an athlete as him trying to “win” in the relationship

3. the FMC - i went back and forth with my love/loathe of her. there were many times where i really felt for her, such as the times she felt isolated from the other WAGs, or feeling like she put her entire life on hold when she had the twins. but there were also so many times where it was hard to root for her. she got mad because she told her husband to leave and he did ?? she got mad because her husband used lines from romance books to woo her, as if every woman on the planet wouldn’t LOVE to be told one of those swoonworthy lines from our favorite romance novels ?? and yes, she is a romance girly. i just felt she was making the biggest fights out of the smallest things and it got way too repetitive after awhile

i didn’t really have high expectations for this book, but i really did want to enjoy it.
