Meh. The word "sweepings" comes to mind. The author admits that some are ideas, some are contractual obligations, some are on request, etc.

The Rivers series really works better in novella length or longer.

And for sure it you aren't into the Rivers universe, there's no point reading this. The more books in the series you have read, the more this will work for you. But really, it's for completists.

A collection of short stories featuring Peter and a host of side characters taking place between books in the main series and the novellas. I definitely wish I could have read these stories in chronological order within the series but I like having the author's introductions to each story.

Eine wundervolle Sammlung an Kurzgeschichten. Das Buch liest sich einfach so runter =)

Reading in the Rivers of London series universe is always a good time. What follows are primary observation from each short story.
The Home Crowd Advantage: cheeky among the pathos.
The Domestic: Little bit grim, little bit sad, wouldn't be an Rivers of London  collection without it.
The Cockpit - haunted (? 😏) bookstore!
[Toby cameos!]
The Loneliness of Long-Distance Grannies: Respect your elders. ☺️
A Rare Book of Cunning Devices: Library!!! Librarian with fantastic/mysterious history; unusual book! 😁
A Dedicated Follower of Fashion: Trippy
Favourite Uncle: More Abigail !
Vanessa Sommer's Other Christmas List: I'm hoping this is a character from one of the novellas I've yet to read, because I'm drawing a blank on any other appearances - pleasant diversion as a story.
Three Rivers, Two Husbands and a Baby: One of my favourites of this collection, and particularly happy to see these characters once again, plus answering a curiousity about a new arrival πŸ˜‰ [side note Leda and the swan reference πŸ‘€?]
The Moments that ended the collection just made me want more!
End note by author promised there will be/are more short stories, for now I will satisfy my craving with those novellas I haven't caught up on.
