My heart.

What in the hellscape of teenage angst, more questions I NEED answered, the most painful love triangle ever, and everyone being ridiculous and betraying all over the place is HAPPENING.

Still love it tho.

LEGACY 3//5

Oh where to start....

First off, I love that we find out about her biological parents. 8 books in and we finally figure out one of the biggest questions since book 1. Except it takes nearly the whole book and lots of arguing & confusion to finally learn that (spoiler):Oralie is Sophie's mom. Here we reach my first issue I had with the book. Sophie was so harsh to Oralie... the reader knows how hard it's been for Oralie to keep it a secret from Sophie, especially because they have a very close bond. I get that the revelation was difficult for Sophie, but ditto for Oralie. they really needed to sit and talk for awhile. I hope they can repair their bond in the future books.

Something I loved was that Sophie finally moved away from Mr. Forkle. He's been great and all... But the secrets he's kept from Sophie for "very important" reasons are way too numerous. Every time one is revealed... nothing huge happens. Another thing- What on earth happened to Fitz?!
Okay, previously, I really liked Fitz. He seemed like he cared about everyone and just all around wanted to do the right thing. Now he's just kind of the opposite. He gets mad at Sophie so many times because she's busy. There was literally not a single scene where he showed even an inkling of the person he was before. Not the character development I was hoping for. In his defense, Sophie was pretty annoying too. She's lost a lot of the humbleness she had at the beginning that made her likable. They were not at all ready for their "relationship"... but then the breakup forced. So, after that whole mess, I'm kinda voting for a single Sophie. She needs some time to herself.
I did love the depth we got behind previously minor characters like Wylie, Stina, Muruca, and Marella.
WYLIE: We learn about his insane loyalty to Maruca. It just warmed my heart. He was a little overzealous with his protection, but honestly, before, I didn't even remember they were cousins.
STINA:I never really thought I'd like Stina, but this book totally changed that. she bonded with Biana, and that was really sweet to see grow over the course of the novel.
MARELLA: I really was just excited to see her back. After the first book, we really didn't see much of her until her ability developed. She was such a great addition to the series. Now, we find out she's become close friends with Linh and Maruca, which is pretty special.

Looking forward to the end of this series!

3.5 stars

On my rating system this means "meh."

In my opinion, this series should have ended around Neverseen, or at a stretch Lodestar (have I said this in a previous review?). Up until then I would've rated the books 4 or 5 stars (though I don't think I actually rated most of them, since that was before I started rating books).

Nightfall was where things went south for me. And it took me wayy too long to finish this.

That being said, I did like this considerably better than Nightfall! (hence the extra .5)

AAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!

⭐️⭐️⭐️ = It’s Okay

Rating: 3.5/5
I definitely liked this better than Flashback, but the plot was still all over the place. I’m still rooting for Keefe and he carried this book for sure.
