3.8 AVERAGE

4 1/2 stars. A little predictable, but still a delightful and well written story!

4.5 stars! This was a long book in pages, but it felt quick because it was so interesting. I enjoyed the hints of Jane Eyre, if Jane had had a guardian angel along the way. I adored everyone that Amy met along her journey, and how they all shaped her and showed her how to know what she wanted and needed. They all helped her grow and mature and also heal from her years in an in-between world that wasn’t usually kind to her. The only thing that knocked a half a star off for me was the pure bit of utter silliness with the love interest. I had to remind myself that she’s 17. But I rolled my eyes so hard at their idealistic immaturity. The only thing that helped keep my teeth from rotting from sweetness was the cranky old lady she was staying with. Her comments and observations and snarkiness were GOLD.

3.5 stars. The characters were likable and the mystery intriguing, but parts dragged on a bit.

I almost quit half a dozen times because it felt very insubstantial. It was likeable enough, just fluff.

This is a long read but I really enjoyed this story and it reminded me of Jane Austen's books which I love.

Slow and rather obvious. Regret to admit I abandoned it!

This was a unexpectedly great read. What does it mean to know someone?

As soon as I read the summary for this one, I was hooked. Abandoned as an infant and mostly neglected by the couple that grudgingly takes her in, Amy Snow has just one friend, the couple's only daughter, Aurelia. I thoroughly enjoyed the journey of Amy Snow as she uncovers the clues that her departed friend Aurelia has left for her. As she gradually uncovers Aurelia's secrets, Amy also learns about herself and eventually finds her true place in the world.
