Sublim, tot i que per molt que li dono voltes no tinc motius ni per justificar ni per contradir la decisió d'en Werther. Al cap i a la fi què hi fa aquí més que patir, sens dubte és una decisió respectable envers la manca sobtada del sentit a la vida. Si hagués decidit passar pàgina ho hagués fet per covardia i temor envers l'esdevenidor, només va avançar el que hagués passat més tard o més d'hora però ho va fer quan la seva la consciència, l'únic que realment és important mentres vivim, li ho demanava. Sens dubte, el suïcidi per desamors està justificat no és símbol de feblesa. Molta gent respectable ho ha fet, vegis en Mishima.

Well, this book is defiently a classic but is it really a must read?
That depends.
Do you want to learn about the whole core and beginings of romanticism or you are a big fan of it?
Then yes, this book is well suited for you.
But is it worth if you are just more curious about it?
Not really. Its the very basis of all romantic literature which means there wont be anything novel in it.

Very lush and feels very modern in its exploration of love and shame (I laughed out loud when Wether holds a gun to his head when his romantic rival talks ad nauseam about gun safety). As an exploration of the addled male mind, this is ahead of its time and is sympathetic towards male loneliness while being aware of the specifically gendered myopia it can introduce in young men. It’s refreshing to read this now when so much of the current “male loneliness epidemic” is vilified and mocked since this has such a psychologically coherent take on what that looks like, what causes it, and how it directly leads to violent ends
