werther ist so nervig omg. 1 stern weil er in dem argument gegen albert(?) eine sehr based meinung zu mentaler (un)gesundheit vertitt. mental illness = krankheit, suizid ist nicht schwaeche sondern ergebnis von langer ueberlastung und mental kranke verdienen unterstuetzung anstelle von verurteilung - sehr progressiv fuer seine zeit! ein punkt, den leider sehr viele in the big year 2025 immernoch nicht gecheckt haben

Fiquei bastante admirado e surpreso com a leitura que tive desse livro. Como foi dito na apresentação, uma definição de clássico interessante é a sua atemporalidade e isso guiou minha leitura com muita relevância. Encontrei um jovem muito inteligente, de grande sensibilidade e intensidade, com ideias geniais e momentos que me remetem à juventude também. Foi incrivelmente agradável ler este livro, a estrutura epistolar e o desenvolvimento me cativaram. Gostei muito de como Werther usava de sua inteligência, não como algo puramente racional, mas que era ligada à paixão também. Ao mesmo tempo, me compadeci de seu final, mas sei que era o único final que lhe cabia em suas ideias e nada mudaria isto. E para melhorar a experiência, as ilustrações no ebook da Antofágica ficaram muito boas. Espero reler essa obra em algum outro momento, pois ela parece ter uma potencialidade muito interessante (pretendo ler outros livros de Goethe também, especialmente Fausto que já está na minha lista de desejos).

I think this is a very enjoyable read although it is heavy. Werther is, what I like to think of as, a typical person in love but i think novel also warns against self isolation and rumination. i did dislike werther-i think hes your typical loser-but it was interesting to read that point of view.
Supongo que en medio de la ilustracion, hacer un libro de puro sentimiento tiene su merito.
A mi me ha dejado mas bien aburrido. Hay demasiada repeticion. Demasiada quejas sin mucho fondo. Al final estaba deseando que acabara, menos mal que el final al menos satisface.
Se salva un poco por estar bien escrito y relativamente romper moldes en su tiempo.
En definitiva, mas bien aburrido.

My heart aches for Werther who could never be with the object of his love in the capacity with which he desired. Though I wish he could have listened to Lotte's speech about how he should find another object worthy of his love, I envy him too for the wicked certainty that told him that Lotte was the one.
I fear ever being a Lotte to some unfortunate fool, and pray when I experience love it may never lead me to such overwhelming obsessive extents.
