This book was such an interesting concept with a Hunger Games type competition set in modern NYC between the Greek gods and the descendants of Greek heroes.

Lore was an ideal main character with a tragic backstory and top notch fighting skills. The rest of the cast of characters were also great, I especially loved Miles (her regular, mortal best friend) and Castor (her childhood friend she used to train with). There was a little bit of romance between Lore and Castor that I quite enjoyed.

The story itself had plenty of shocking moments and betrayals. There were also some interesting interpretations/discussions of popular myths.

My only complaints is that the book did feel a little too long at times and took awhile for me to get fully into. There were also a few moment that were hard to follow because of the way were described and I would have to reread them a couple times.

But, overall I would definitely recommend if you’re into Greek mythology or want to read an exciting urban fantasy.
