So good! This is where the action starts picking up and the war gets intense.

I cannot believe I'm addicted to this nonsense. Worse, I can't believe that now I'm going to have to track down 10 more of them!

I am really enjoying the way in which this series explores important library and information service concerns in context of their constructed war on books. In this volume, the issues of censorship of materials for children. A colleague of mine tells parents who want to censor materials for their children that children are great at self-censoring what they read. They are either going to skip over something they don't understand/something that makes them uncomfortable or they are going to have questions about it. Either way, it's a win-win. This volume also went into the differences in access to public and private collections and the way in which those collections can be effected by governmental regulation.

All in all, this series is a fun way for me to think back to the foundational teachings from library school and remind myself of some very real, very present pressing issues in librarianship and information service. That and I feel compelled to read on in hopes that Iku and Dojo hook up ...

Hmmm... This volume really bothered me with the way Dojo treated Iku, the decision he made for her. I like their romance, but the fact that he's her superior and he treats her differently because he has feelings for her really bothers me a lot. The decision he made for her was not only embarrassing for her but could have been damaging to her career.

Even if I already read this series (with the novels by Hiro Arikawa), I still love to read the story in another format! And I loved the side stories!!

So much adventure in this one! I was excited to see an actual battle. As a librarian, the issue of censorship is a big one, and its really fun to see censorship taken to such an extreme like this.
I totally want to join the task force.
