I weirdly feel like the people who reviewed this book read a completely different book from me. I do not know if there is a different edition, but some reviews have alcoholism and pregnancy as content warnings and there was neither! This is literal lighthearted fluff, given with a few ridiculously annoying/occasionally cruel characters. I have not seen the movie, though I will at some point, but I did quite enjoy the book. I read a book early this year that tried to combine Austen and 2000s rom-coms and did it poorly, this one did it quite well, never trying to be anything it isn't. Just don't go I to this expecting it to be some great work of literature. I wouldn't expect a chocolate bar to be a five course meal.
Graphic: Misogyny and Toxic friendship
Moderate: Sexual content, Toxic friendship, Gaslighting, Bullying, Confinement, Toxic relationship, and Ableism
Minor: Bullying, Gaslighting, Car accident, Fatphobia, Toxic friendship, Child death, and Toxic relationship

The plot of this book felt like an elaborate shell game of ridiculousness - but at least it was entertaining!
This book did a bad job convincing me that all this fuzz about Mr. Malcolm was in any way warranted, he was a bit of a boring character who only got interesting during the last couple of chapters.
My favorite part of the book was the side romance, honestly the true hero of this book, and how likeable Selina was.
Moderate: Confinement
Minor: Bullying
