I didn’t completely love this book but I also didn’t hate it? I wish Jafar was written a bit differently. (Still villain wise) I liked that he at least wanted to set a safe word and respected it whenever it should be used.

This was not my first book by Katee Robert’s, and it will definitely not be the last. The first one was Neon Gods (yes, my TikTok algorithm new I was a spicy book reader without me even telling it). And let’s be honest I was always a huge Hades x Persephone fanatic even before I started reading spicy books.

As soon as I finished the Neon gods and realised that I have to wait for two months until the second book comes out, I was devastated, so I turned to my online friends asking for recommendations as to what of Katee Robert’s is also good. And I was recommended Wicked Villains series. At first glance I wasn’t into it, and so I did add it to my wish list but it wasn’t on my priorities. Looking back now I’m not sure whether my decision was correct or not, on one hand I immensely enjoyed the book and wished I read it sooner, but on the other hand, I’m happy I took my time before getting my hands on it and reading. Anticipation and all… p.s. the reason it jumped on the top of my TBR list was because it was on sale on amazon, so I said yeah let’s get it now.

But let’s dive into the book itself. First things first, I understood that I don’t like the endearment Daddy, or better said that I didn’t like Jasmine calling Jafar that. it sounded wrong and not in a good way. In the beginning I was like: hee, nice nice, by the middle of the book it was just cringey…

Count me insane, but the book didn’t ruin my childhood, it actually just gave life to my own twisted ideas of what if’s… yes, I was that kid who watched the cartoon, and then sat there thinking, hmm, what if Jafar was not evil, and Jasmine actually ended up with him. So in a roundabout way, the book just gave sustainment to my already raging imagination.

Now, back to the book, the writing was amazing, though honestly I loved Neon Gods so much more.. Sex was good, but every now and then I was thinking it was missing just something, maybe Jasmine was annoying me way too much. Plot twist at the end of the book? Chef Kisses!!!!!

And I just realised why I was so frustrated with the parts of the book. Jafar promised Jasmine so many different threesomes and orgy’s but we only got to see one! I demand a continuation and seeing even more dark and twisted sex!

Will I be getting the second book? That’s where I’m unsure, because the book will be about hades, and I’m conflicted. Because there can only be one Kate Robert’s Hades, so I’m not sure whether I’d want to read about another one.

Are you unsure whether you want to start this book? Give it a shot, you won’t be disappointed, and don’t worry your childhood is safe (provided that you’re not like me who already had those fantasies about villain getting the girl). And if you found Jasmine annoying too, send me a chat, I’d love to talk about it!

XOXO

I was desperate for good smut and I know that I like Katee Robert so I bought this one for a couple of dollars on Amazon and read it in two days. Overall it was a good time. A little dark and fell short slightly on the sex. The plot was outrageous but I wasn't reading it for that so it was fine. I will be continuing the series but again only if I'm in the mood for the smut.

This is some cheeky smut and I had a blast with it. Cant wait to read the rest!

I love Katee Robert's writing, and Desperate Measures lived up to all expectations. As someone who loves adult re-retelling of Disney stories, I will devour this series with a quickness.

Couldn't have asked for a better ending
