Me lo he pasado genial con este cómic. No sé si lo continuarán los autores o qué pasará, pero desde luego me ha gustado todo (y merece una continuación). Para amantes del género fantástico y las metahistorias.

I love this weird mash up of fairytales and folklore and can't wait to see where it goes. Great art and a story that reminds me of Jim Henson's Storyteller. Particularly, my favorite episode, A Story Short, in which the storyteller becomes part of the story. Great fun

I'd give this a 3.75\5. It's a very cute, very fun and fast story. Finishes well enough but I just wish this story had a few more issues to fully flesh out the world building, emotions, and characters a little bit more. This reminds of Spurrier-esque writing and this fits well into Boom! Studios catalog.

A fun read, with engaging characters and nice art. I found the ending unsatisfying, the but the getting there was pretty good.

Folklords plays with a fun fish-out-of-water concept in the shape of Ansel who, while living in a classic fantasy village, has visions of the modern world. Loved the look of it and feel for it, the first issues were very strong! Also liked the overall themes of young people going on an epic quest where they find themselves along the way.

Unfortunately it culminated into a messy climax where you kind of go "oh, yeah, I guess", rather than feeling like you were let in on a cool secret or got a resolution. I would've loved to see where the story was headed with what was revealed on the last few pages, but sadly we'll have to use our imaginations as it seems the series was cancelled after issue 5.

This really isn't a stand-alone mini series. It doesn't have a satisfying ending and it really does just read as the promising first volume of an on-going. Which is really rather infuriating given that was never the plan for this series. Too much was shoehorned into 5 issues (especially the final issue) and the pacing is uneven as a result.
There are certain pacing choices you can forgive when you know a story is going to be at least a certain length. Folklords takes the worst from both worlds, moving in places too slow for a miniseries and then in others too fast for an on-going.
