It's an entertaining short read. If you want to read high magic or intricate worlds and many-layered stories, read Tolkien. I still enjoyed it for some relaxing reading that doesn't get boring and has the magical academia vibe and some good teenage love story.
I was so happy to see this world continued from Nicole's story in the Elementals series. It be a few years later and we are now following Summer as she is thrust into this unknown world of magic. Of course no book would be completely without a devastating handsome moody guy, Zane. With new unknown threats at her doorstep, unable to control her magic, and trying to traverse the new school Summer has her work cut out for her. The mystery of Zane had me on the edge of my seat till the very end. I can't wait to see what is in-store in the next book.
I spent a day lost in Summer’s world! I am a sucker for academic settings, especially magic academies. This book focuses on Summer’s discovery that she has magic and must attend the Elemental academy to train her magic. This book was hard to put down. The author grasped my attention from page 1. I am intrigued by the MMC, Zane. I am sure more will be divulged in book 2 but his character seems interesting (without spoiling it). I am curious where the author will go with the series and the characters.
I don't like the hot and cold treatment from Zane.
For the record: It was obvious from the moment we read about the giants/immortals that Zane was one.

This book felt like if JLA’s Half-blood and Twilight had a baby. The Greek mythology was a fun aspect, and I love that this takes place in our world. We follow our main character, Summer as she learns that she has elemental magic, after an encounter with a mean girl at her college. Summer is swift off to a magical academy where she must learn her elemental magic, meet and make new friends which hasn’t been easy for her in the past, and try to not let the guy out of her league catch her starring at him…again. I 100% got some Bella vibes once she met her crush. This book totally gives “touch her and die” vibes, and I was 100% down for that. Summer wasn’t the most likable character, but the writing was so compelling I couldn’t put it down. Do you remember how 2010s YA writing was so addictive, and maybe not the most outlandish plots, but still unputdownable? That’s how this book reads, and I mean that is the best way possible!
