OMG... I don't know how to begin explaining this trilogy. It was dark, it had light . It was tragic, it was happy. it was gut-wrenching, it was pleasant. painfully beautiful. The writing style of author was mind-blowing. I had such phenomenal experience reading this trilogy. Ellie was such a strong character, making best of every awful thing that was done to her and she redeemed herself totally in my opinion. I loved the couple from first book and rooted for them and epilogue added more beauty to their HEA. Hands down, best series I've read this year.
While I loved the first book in the series, Sins and Needles, the second book, Shooting Scars, I only gave 3 stars, it had middle book syndrome, does that have a name? This final book was better, but still only kept my interest because I needed to know if Ellie and Camden would get the happy ending they deserved. I spent a lot of this book just hoping that they could catch a break. Every time it seemed they might be getting ahead, something messed it up. Kind of reminds me of how The Walking Dead has been.

Karina Halle saved the best for last. I loved this book so much. It had more suspense, more action, more romance, more betrayal and brutality than the others. It was a pinnacle and certainly no disappointment in this series.
I chose to read this book because I was craving a romance. I thought it would be light and full of degrading lovey/fluffy lines that would make me roll my eyes but every now and then I need a fix of some kind of romance. This book was no such degrading stereotypical romance. I only ever come across a good romance every once in a while and it makes reading the crappy ones worth it. This book was a delicious romance, with all its maturity so refreshing in how the book dealt with human flaws and the struggles with trust that come in any relationship. However, this book wasn't just any romance. It was a contemporary, dark and suspenseful action story as well. It's dynamic characters and mind fucking plot drove this story farther than i could have thought i could have gone. You think for one second you know these characters or you know what's going to happen in this story and that things are going to be okay, and everything gets pulled out from under you. This story changes courses so fast that there's no second for the suspense to be dropped.
This book was exactly what I needed to start off this summer. This series is fantastic and I'm so sad I've finished it except that I'll just have to buy the books so I can read them over and over again anyway. :) Thank you Karina Halle.

A satisfactory, is somewhat predictable and cheesy ending. Overall I really enjoyed the series.
Whoa, that rollercoaster ride!
All the while I was reading the scenes were playing out like an action movie in my head. I saw them running, dodging bullets, jumping off roofs, navigating through the jungle...it was awesome. Although I do think I like Shooting Scars slightly better than this one, I think that this is a great conclusion to the series. The epilogue was bittersweet.
p/s I know Javier Bernal is a whackjob, but he still has my heart, crazy as it sounds.

Was I obsessed with these characters? Not particularly.
Was I obsessed with the romance or who will she choose? Not particularly.
Was I obsessed with the story? YES.
This series as a whole is completely compelling, and I have no idea why.
If asked about the characters separately I would say meh, but holy hannah put them all together and what a blender full of betrayal and drama. I feel like that doge meme. So wow. Much drama. Lies. Mentally I processed these things but never felt a lot of emotion behind them.
Can't explain it but I devoured this series and yet I still feel very ambivalent about it.
Anyway, read it in order and don't even think about just dipping your toe in, you must read all the books to get to the end of the cliffhangers.
And yes, I will be reading the authors "Dirty Angels" series. I read the synopsis of all the books and of course Halle is using characters that were in this series. So of course I must read and find out what happens to them. I really feel like Halle will improve.

Wow that was the end
3.5 stars
I remember reading sins and needles and being enthralled...I've never read a book like that..everything about it was different..I devoured it
the second one was awesome
the third one............I liked it just not as much as I thought I would...considering I took a 3 month long break in order to come back and finish. But still it was a nice end...Karina Halle really fucking knows how to write a book.....
Just at around 70 percent I thought it started slanting towards spanish soap opera status ..thats what made me loose interest.
But damn
this series is epic.
simply epic!

Having read the first book a while back and forgetting what happened and then I thought I read the 2nd but come to figure out that No I did not. I wasn't extremely lost but I did catch myself not understanding things.
Overall it was a good book, action packed and kept me wondering what was going to happen.
