A lot of french in the beginning which did make it a little hard to get into. I think also the voice of the mc took some adjusting. I loved the romance in this, I felt it was very sweet and made me smile. I also liked the perspective of the 'villian'.
I did have some issues with the book. Some parts of it felt entirely too predictable and I also was very confused by the end. I was thrown by thinking there would be a second book and then felt less than satisfied from everything being resolved in the epilogue. That all felt really weird to me. If you were going to have a last minute huge conflict solved in a five page epilogue why even write the conflict?
I think there was also just some plot things that felt a little questionable, althlugh its always possible I could've missed something.

Very much enjoyed this! However, I do with the ending was different. It’s not a bad ending, just not how I would have preferred… no spoilers but I’d prefer another book over an odd epilogue

i'm so happy to say that i enjoyed the shit out of this book. i love all of the characters, especially marie and big bro damien. the story keeps me on my toes all the time. never once was i bored or felt it was dragging on too long. also, odile and marie? goals. big fan of the mlm wlw siblings.
i would've rated this a 4.5 but i would sometimes find minor mishaps that were overlooked (e.g. the word "the" was missing in a sentence and the word "when" has a duplicate right next to it, so it's "when when", etc.)

I loved this one. Odile was such a complex character. Sometimes I wanted to shake her and be like please look up the word gaslighting. I think that added to the enjoyment though the entire time I was like come on just trust one person. Slowburn was done correctly in this one. Watching Odile and Marie interact was perfect. The writing was great and read like a folktale. I enjoyed the mystery even if some of it was a bit predictable. In my opinion I thought the ending really landed and was a great culmination. Overall I loved it and look forward to anything this author writes.
