I did like this book but it did take me a while to get behind Ares and Neves relationship. Yes it was arrange marriage but Area whole “now that you’re my wife I own you and can touch you whenever” reallllly gave me the ick! Especially since they were supposed to be enemies and hate each other at that point. Near the second act you can see the relationship actually shift but I felt like a lot of that happened behind the scenes.
This book was a good time! I enjoyed it though there were some things I may have been picky on but I still finished. It was vibes so I’m a happy girly!

I actually hated this so much. the half star was because I enjoyed bits and pieces at the ends but overall I just wanted this to be over with. also what the actual fuck.. a psycho just escaped prison, and like I get it they had security and shit but do you think fucking at a time like that is appropriate.. considering that the psycho wants Neve dead?? and don’t get me started on the kinky shit they did. “I’m not doing this to send you back to that place, Neve. I’m doing this to free you from it.” sure buddy.. maybe do that when the psycho that’s out to get her is dead…… and when she actually can feel free from the trauma he put her through. I also couldn’t deal with Ares saying “MY WIFE!” every chance he got because isn’t this supposed to be an enemies to lovers type shit? bro kept saying it all throughout the book and it wasn’t giving what it needed to give not once. Neve saying something alone the lines of “lay a finger on me… blah blah blah” and then they fuck on their wedding night (which is like 30% into the book) umm I thought you weren’t gonna let him lay a finger on you let alone fuck you but sure and Ares’ dirty talk was just so horrible I cringed so many times.
The writing just didn’t stick with me, there was something about it that I just didn’t find interesting enough to keep reading, despite the arranged marriages x mafia families being one of my favorites.
Well it’s the usual cliche. But nonetheless I still enjoyed it. Never thought a man could whip up a pretty good fictional bf.

I think that this book is first and foremost a fast little fun read. I will say however, the relationship development between the two characters seemed to be happening outside of the readers lends. We got all the details on how great the sex was (not complaining once so ever), however the mushy cutesy and romantic scenes and/or instances that seemed to make them closer eluded me. So I was a tad confused when other side characters of the book said that they changed one another for the better. I did like the book, and I definitely recommend it to anyone who loves a good smut read, AKA me. I will be moving on with fever to the second book…
