I was really looking forward to this one. It sounded SO good. And you cannot imagine my disappointment that it wasn't. It definitely had some potential but it was never utilized. It was all so shallow and flat. Neither MC had a real connection and their supposed chemistry was so forced it was pretty cringe to watch them go at it everytime they fought. I just couldn't believe these were some big badass crime families. It was like the author tried too hard and so everyone came out too soft and average or like over the top mustache twirling psychopaths.

I’m giving this 4.5 stars. I really enjoyed the book. It had plot, spice plot twist. I was just hoping for a pregnancy. Neve wasn’t on bc and her and Ares f***ked so much i thought it might happen. Still a very good read.

Ares was so possessive and obsessed with her. And jealousy, delicious!

I read the last three books in this series first (Yes, I know that's not the way to read a series.) and I loved seeing the characters interact with each other even though they're not yet a couple or friends.

Enemies to lovers
Wow another amazing Mafia story from Jagger, love the forced proximity, enemies to lovers tropes and this is a fantastic example. Neve and Ares are like Fire and Water together initially, neither wanting their arranged marriage.
Always love to see characters we’ve met previously like Cillian and ongoing stories over several books. We see old enemies and troublemakers reappearing here to seek revenge in this exciting plot.
Loads of spice and action here, Ares is a very dominant alpha male who’s very protective of Neve.
Really enjoyed this book, a well thought out story as always.
