Ares and Neve are AMAZING characters. Jagger Cole is fantastic about giving his characters depth and making them feel more than one dimensional. I really enjoy how this series is not only a romance series, there is also a slight underlying mystery aspect to it as well. However, at times I had to stop and put the book down to try and process who was related to who. The book is so well thought out but there are so many characters that are interconnected that it sometimes hard to keep up. That being said, Jagger Cole does a fantastic job with plot twists, and making sure that the interconnected characters play an important role. I love this series. He is one of my new favorite authors!

There is something so perfect about a true enemies to lovers that makes any story so beautiful and satisfying when they actually get together. Ares is the true head of the Greek mafia and he has no weaknesses, he has too many people relying on him to succeed that he refuses to fail. Neve is as stubborn as can be and although she is not a true Irish mafia princess she does have the same stubborn, sassy and attitude driven personality. The two of them together are explosive. The sex is incredibly hot and well....like I said explosive. But when they finally realize that they have falling in love....oh marone that is a thing of beauty. Ares is so possessive it borderlines on psychotic and yet Neve is no different.
My only point of contention is that its described about 3 or 4 times how thin Neve is....even saying that his hands can fit around her waist. Its a bit creepy actually, nonetheless the book is 5 stars, a must read.

I could not put this book down. I had to ignore responsibilities so I could finish this because it had a total chokehold on me. Arranged Marriage is one of my favorite tropes so I knew this would right up my alley.
The MMC is Drakos Mafia and the FMC is Irish Mafia. In order to end the years long war between the two families an arranged marriage is set up. At first, both of them have all sorts of preconceived notions about the other and, although they find the other attractive, they really dislike each other. I loved watching them break down each other's walls and find a home in each other.
Ares is the perfect possessive antihero and Neve was such a perfectly strong heroine.
This book was steamy, compelling and delicious! I can't wait to read more of Jagger Cole's work.

Love me a protective man. Though they are all still crazy mafia people.

I didn’t love and i didn’t hate this book. It felt like it was missing something. Overall a decent read but not my favorite in terms of mafia.

This started out so good, I couldn’t stop reading. Then fmc just became super insufferable. She’s very much not like other girls 🙄 and the music argument she and Ares had was super cringey. You’d think they were teens. She tells yaya that there will be no babies in their marriage after she had unprotected sex with Ares twice now (no birth control). She brings up Lucia a SECOND time and Ares repeats that she’s the daughter of another mob boss which he’s already told her. Then the scene with Seamus (or whatever his name was) on live tv threatening her as he comes up on the possibility of parole then he somehow hulks out and breaks free and kills the reporter on camera. This was the last straw lol. I don’t expect mafia romances to be super close to real life but come on.

💒 arranged marriage
🔪 enemies to lovers
😛 MY WIFE
🔫 mafia romance

I had a blast reading this. All the cackles at their banter, the aws, and the demented aws when Ares turns someone into mashed potatoes for messing with Neve.

Neve is our feisty redheaded heroine who has a little habit of ogling her sexy neighbor across from her fancy apartment. Unluckily, that naked God with the "CGI abs" is her enemy, Ares. Extra unluckily, they're set up in an arranged marriage for a truce between the long time war between the Kildare and Drakos families.

Ares and Neve were amazing! I love how Ares fell first but since from the beginning, he wasn't even going to let strangers talk shit about his wife. The god of war doesn’t play games when it comes to his wife. 🥺 Neve was more resistant and closed off deferring to react with her claws out but Ares found his way to her heart.

The suspense was written great. I actually was a little spooked when they mentioned the main antagonist of the story 😅 I shed some tears too during the climax. It got emotional for me.

Don't doubt Ares's love and devotion to Neve 😭 he was ready to sacrifice the last of him for her survival.

Since I read Toxic Love first, I did notice *a lot* of similarities between these two first in series books. I'm not saying they're the exact same plot, it was a lot but slight changes with a little context?

And I want to say: Uncle Cillian is hot. I'm glad his book is next and can't wait to get to it. He's truly the father figure Neve and Eilish needed/deserved 🥺

I also loved Ares's grandma Dimitra 🤣 she's such a hoot. That dinner scene cracked me up. I hope she gets her great-grandbabies in the future.
