Love me a good mafia romance. All the male characters (from the Greek mafia) named after Greek Gods? Loved that. Loved the female lead, Neve, was a strong force to be reckoned with.
Greek and Irish mafia arrange a marriage to strengthen their hold, even though they have been fighting each other. Ares and Nerve don’t like each other but have amazing sexual chemistry, and of course, fall in love. Neve had a psychotic serial killer after her and Ares does everything to save her. A little hokey in the end with all of the convenient blood transfusions, but overall loved the book.

lol I literally could not put this book down!! this was my first book by jagger cole and i’m eagerly awaiting the second book in this series (although i’m also very much looking forward to hades’ book and callie’s book - especially hers)!! boy the passion was instant between these two and it’s definitely enemies to lovers!! i loved the development of their relationship - amazing to see. the suspense kept me at the edge of my seat and the last 20% had me nervoussss… there was a definite PLOT TWIST - so buckle up!!! i loved neve and ares, but i ESPECIALLY LOVED all of the side characters!!!! you could see all of their distinct personalities and i was always looking for who i was gonna see next!! makes me super excited for the rest of the series too because i’ll only get more attached!! also this is definitely dark romance so please please please check the TWs!!

I had never read a book by Jagger Cole, so I wasn't sure what to anticipate. I was pleased because I enjoyed it.
Neve and Ares' relationship is an arranged marriage, a marriage of convenience, a marriage of enemies to lovers intended to bring peace.
Neve is a strong-willed and stubborn woman who knows how to handle herself. She is a smart, knows when to be demanding and when to stay quiet. Ares was ruthless but equally stubborn as he was. I loved how devoted and protective he was toward his wife. Both Ares and Neve displayed mutual possessiveness toward one another. Ares and Neve had obvious chemistry, so I wouldn't say that their chemistry was lacking, but there was still something missing.

I haven’t read a mafia book in so long and I enjoyed this!
Funnily enough the romance was probably the least enjoyable aspect of the book for me. Don’t get me wrong, I loved Ares in this book and how protective and possessive he was. He would literally do anything for Neve. Unfortunately, I found Neve to be absolutely insufferable and I hated her.
There was no relationship development between them. There was just a whole lot of fucking, to the point I started skimming the sex scenes, and they instantly went from hating each other to loving each other for no reason.
What I loved most about this book is the world building and how brutal the book could be. We got to learn about all the different family histories and rivalries and it was so detailed and interesting. I also think the brutal aspect of mafia books is missing a lot of the time but this book nailed it. Like yes, I want to read about romance but I want to read about murder (with a side of gore) and manipulations and psychos. It was a good balance (besides all the sex). I also loved the family dynamics and how interesting some of the side characters already are. I can’t wait to read their books!
I’ll definitely continue this series, especially since Cillian’s book is next!
