I picked this up after August Lane because I had my eye on this one for a while because I was intrigued by the premise and I thought my anticipation would keep me out of a reading slump after finishing August Lane. This book was a serious let down. The characters felt one dimensional and the conflict repetitive and melodramatic. This story had a lot of potential and the writing was okay. I enjoyed another book by this author so I’m definitely curious about her other books.

My first Brittainy Cherry book–and most definitely not my last. I laughed. I cried. I was angered. And I was saddened. This book had me running through all the emotions. I loved every second of it.

The title alone. Had so many variations of meanings within the story that kept unfolding and adding more depth to the story. So hard-hitting and sad to watch someone like Kierra have her light dimmed from an early age. She actually intrigued me so much because of her occupation and need to dim her light so others around her felt better about themselves.

Thank god for Gabriel Ayodele Sinclair! He was everything and more. The bond and connection he shared with Kierra was one of the purest loves I've had the pleasure of reading. With no recollection of who Kierra had once been to him, it amazed me to see how his heart and soul knew her.

The villain award goes to Henry Hughes, who is now up there with Caleb from Long Shot by Kennedy Ryan. I hope the prison system in their world is showing him what it's like to be abused.
