Unnecessary drama. New threat seems more like a ploy to add drama and keep series going ratter than a legitimate advancement to the storyline. Blah. Underwhelming.

When we left Kai and Rhys in My Soul to Keep, they were in tatters. Shattered by betrayal and lies, Kai left on  her tour. Rhys left alone filled with regret.

Down to my Soul is a continuation of My Soul to Keep. You will not understand the gravity of the situation or their relationship without reading it.

Down brings us back to the heartache and distrust looms in the air. Too many secrets and nothing laid bare.
Kia is suffocating under Malcolm's oppressive nature.
Rhys is suffocating in his remorse and broken heart.

Both long for what they had, but Kai is afraid.
Afraid to keep loving
Afraid to trust
Afraid to lean on Rhys
Afraid that it will all be ripped away

If you give your fear power, you will never get rid of it. Kia is about to learn what is truly scary.

I really hope this series continues. I need to know if Marlon gets what his heart desires, Luke gets a girl, if Bristol ever settles down. So many characters that have apiece of your heart...

This story is a gorgeous conclusion to the many questions racing through your head at the end of My Soul to Keep. (It may even encourage a wave of tattoos.) The pull you feel between Kai and Rhys is very strong and so right. It was a great book.

Alpha hero? Check.
Possessive? Check.
Manipulative? Check.
Overprotective? Extreme jealousy? Over the top everything? Check. Check. Check.

Too much drama. The angst that was supposed to be portrayed was overwhelmed by the characters’ stupid actions and decision. So much unnecessary incidents! This whole trilogy could be condensed into one freaking book! Honestly, I did like Rhys for the most part when he wasn’t acting like a Neanderthal. Kai was just plain stupid in this book. If she believed Rhys genuinely loved her, why would she be worried about him getting upset over the choices she made before she even met him? So what she slept with Drex. She didn’t know Rhys then. And the sex tape? Uff innocent little girl thought she could handle it. Sure it would bother Rhys to know about that tape, let alone watch it. But if he truly loved her then he’d just rationally act to solve the problem rather than blaming Kai. Which he sort of did so good for him. I loved the beginning of their story so much but as it progressed everything became so dramatic and was literally dragging on which made the story lose its charm. The only reason i continued reading is because of Kennedy Ryan’s writing style. I’m not gonna even bother with the third book.

Down to My Soul is the second book in the Soul series from Kennedy Ryan. This book is not a standalone and needs to be read after My Soul to Keep. After the cliffhanger of the first book I could not wait to get my hands on the second part of Rhys and Kai's story. Kennedy Ryan never disappoints, and I really loved this book just as much as the first one.

Down to My Soul picks up right after where My Soul to Keep left off. Rhys and his past and secrets caught up with him when he told Kai lies. It tore them apart and Kai walked away from him. But Rhys wants nothing more than to win her back. Kai has secrets of her own though, and is forced to face them. But the connection between Kai and Rhys is one that neither of them can let go of, but will their secrets destroy any chance of a future together?

I really love these two. They frustrated me at times, but part of that was because I felt so emotionally invested in them that I just wanted them to figure everything out. The connection that these two have is so unique and special, and honestly is one of the strongest I have ever read about. I really felt like even though they had secrets and weren't always being open and honest with each other, that the way they interacted with one another was so different from what you typically find in romance. Even with them not telling each other everything, their communication felt strong which isn't something that you find often. I really believed these two were meant for one another, and though they had issues and secrets that there had to be a way for them to move past it all.

Overall, this was a great conclusion to Rhys and Kai's story. I felt so connected to these characters, and these books gave me all the feels. These two had chemistry and an undeniable bond that nothing could break, and I loved seeing them continue to grow and change over the course of these two books. Kennedy Ryan is a great writer, and her books always deliver such depth and emotion. Though I have loved everything she has written, I really feel like the Soul series might be my favorite. These books are just so good, and I couldn't put them down. I highly recommend giving this series a shot if you are looking for a beautiful and emotional romance. I can't wait to see what Kennedy Ryan writes next!
