I've heard a lot of good things about David Baldacci's books, so I thought I'd give one a try. I liked the idea of the group of older protagonists, which I thought was a fairly unique idea for this genre. Unfortunately, the other elements of the book felt predictable and formulaic. I was hoping the narrative would live up to the premise, but it ultimately left me feeling a little let down.

Compelling storyline that feels like a season of Homeland. Dialogue was a bit hokey at times, maybe one too many twists at the end, but overall I enjoyed it and looking forward to others in this series.

While it's unbelievable that such a ragtag bunch of do-gooders would exist, it's a very good read.

The book started off incredibly slow however I suppose since this is the first book in The Camel Club series it was important to get acquainted with all the characters. There were also a number of stilted conversations.

This is certainly not Baldacci's best work but it's worth reading if you're interested in The Camel Club series. I actually read Divine Justice first and enjoyed it which is why I decided to read the first book in the series.
