This was my second try at american psycho and this time I stopped even earlier than the first time, not because it's bad but for me it was really hard to get through because of all the excessive descriptions of things I couldn't care for. DNF because when I read it again I'll start from scratch and won't continue from here.

Disturbing, horrifying, fascinating. Deeply interesting social commentary with one of the most graphic, fucked up plots ever, but so neat because it feels like so much of the delusional characters choices could be completely fake and made up, and exist only to him. This book is so very up to the readers interpretation. This is a book you read ONCE and then never again, because ohhhh the trauma of it all. That being said, if you have the stomach for it, it could be worth the read just for the way you disappear into this insane nonstop sadistic feverish story.

A truly horrific book. The description of how the psychotic protagonist puts out the eyes of a homeless beggar is probably the most gruesome scene I have ever read in fiction.
