This is a great addition to the 'Villians' series.

I do feel like it could easily be extended as there are multiple ways the story could progress between the storyline of the two current books.

The Artwork/colouring/inking are excellent. The character design for the Eli and Victor are very close to what I imagined reading the books.

Its definitely worth your time if you like the series but I don't think it would work as well as a standalone.

It's a quick story. The art makes it a bit rough. Also the time gap from when this was written to the original series. The lore changed which was kind of annoying.

This was an interesting graphic novel or comic. The beginning was a great set up, as were the parts about Eli and Victor’s past. After Charlie meets Marshal and Felix and plan to breakout Mia, things felt chaotic, unorganized, as if some information was missing from the narrative. The art style is a unique choice, not the greatest but not awful, just different from other comics and illustration choices. I'd say the book did well with representation. Parts of the world reminded me of DC comic superheroes and Marvels X-Men. It is just the first book of a series, so obviously it ends on a cliffhanger “To Be Continued” note and more to be expected with the extraordinary people, their powers, and their motives.

My first time reading a physical copy of a graphic novel. I thoroughly enjoyed it, but I was already a fan of V. E. Schwab’s work before reading this one. It was wonderfully entertaining as always.

This was fun! I think I was expecting this to be more of a Villains spin-off, so I was delighted when we actually got a full Vicious recap and that it was more connected to the Villains stories. (I guess I should have put that together by the fact that this was labeled Villains 1.5)

Mostly I want more of these characters! Don’t give me this iconic squad and then take them away!! Maybe they’ll be in Victorious?

On the whole this was a fun, albeit, probably not necessary, addition to the Villains universe.

A very short, very action packed story set in the Villains universe. While new readers can enjoy this, it is definitely something meant for fans. There were a few twists, though the story mainly focused on rapid transitions in the plot. Charlotte and Eli were the most prolific characters, with the others getting the barest development.

Still, I enjoyed this one and think that fans will as well. The writing is still good and the illustrations give a great comic-book feel. It's not groundbreaking, but it is great to read in the morning with some coffee or tea!
