The pacing is very strange and I wasn't really a fan of the art style.

While I like the illustrations - they do take up a rather classical art style - the story retells parts that we've already been told in Vicious. With that said, I do still think this story could largely be read on its own though it doesn't have a conclusion.

I wish I had longer to get to know the characters. They felt a little too rough to be any more than stereotypes and that impacted the story a bit.

Not a must read but a "It's nice" read.

This is SUCH A COOL GRAPHIC NOVEL! I love seeing the Villains world come to life, and the mini recap of Eli and Victor’s story before introducing the new plot was really awesome. I really hope there’s more of this coming in the future.

The art style is also freaking sick, it has great atmosphere and attention to detail.  I’m not *crazy* about the designs for Eli and Victor, but that’s probably a me problem and doesn’t reflect on the overall artwork.

The story is fun and quick if you're a fan of the original material but I have to say the art is a big meh. I was hoping they'd go for a style more similar to that of the cover (I have the illumicrate version) but instead it looks like a generic marvel comic with out of whack anatomy and everyone looking 45 and older.

The introduction of new powers is cool though.

I initially rated it 4 stars because of the cliffhanger ending, but I also didn't realize there would be more comics after this one. At least that's what I read in another review. I don't think Schwab themself has actually said or not.

In this world death is not the end; individuals known as EO's gain superpowers after dying and coming back to life. We follow Charlotte as she grapples with her newfound powers and its repercussions.

I really enjoyed this! I haven't read either of the main books in the Villains series but this got me up to speed nicely and it didn't impact my enjoyment. I loved our protagonist Charlotte, she was really well developed. The art style wasn't my favourite, however it did grow on me the more I read.

As an extra note the bonus short story Warm Up was fantastic!
