I saw it coming... I saw it coming...

SpoilerThat's not to say I didn't cry. I did. But he never felt permanent to me. My money is on J.B. Also, saw Azazel coming too. Nathaniel is too much of a wuss to ever cross Azazel.

The best book in the series to far, and it was also completely evil! By Lucifer it was so evil.

In this one ghosts are behaving strange, Gabriel is Maddy's thrall and neither one is happy. Our favorite gargoyle wants donuts. Wolves are missing and as always the courts of the fallen are conspiring. And Maddy is in the middle of it all.

Maddy is somewhat of a klutz, she will fall into the worst situation and still mouth off. I have to love her. Yes she is stupid in a way, but I like her. The series is not Mercy awesome. Instead it's just truly enjoyable because the story keeps me wanting more all the time. It made it hard for me to put it down. Sure it's simple at times, but when it makes me want more it makes me want more.

And the end, I mentioned it in the beginning, but it was just so evil! Not cliffie evil (cos it was that too), but yes Lucifer evil. Now I need more cos I can guess what Lucifer wants now.

Fun!

So I wasn't expecting this one to really scratch the itch because the first part took me 3 days to read. But the *things* happened and I had a sudden foreboding of what was to come.

HOW DARE YOU PLAY ME LIKE THAT! I honestly didn't expect it to end how it did because I was happy and they were happy and everyone was one big family and *gestures wildly in angry*.

I think I may read something else before reading another because although these are great, my brain doesn't like reading about a single character for too long without massive developments occurring

Possibly my favourite book in the series so far. I started the book laughing and ending it crying but with hope! Beautifully written and very intense.

Black Howl is another good read in the Black Wings series. Madeline’s adventures continues in a enjoyable mix of humor, vendettas and demon bashing. Madeline is quite good at the latter, not so much on the vendettas and intrigue.

The discovery of erratically behaving souls drags Madeline into an investigation that leads back to some old enemies, a lot of demons and the discovery of a despicable black market scheme leaving a trail of humans and werewolves as empty shells when what defines them are ripped out of their bodies.

Just to make sure life do not become too easy for Madeline the author throws in yet another plot to usurp Satan’s leadership of the fallen. Naturally both schemes are intertwined and Madeline are in for a few surprises when she discovers where the loyalties of some characters are.

Madeline is the usual kick ass, sword wielding descendant of the morning star as in the previous books. You really do not want to piss her off. Her annoying, feeding frenzy prone but faithful Gargoyle provides the usual comical relief. Nathaniel is the usual dick as in previous books and JB walks a tight line between being an ass and being among the likable characters. For the most part he manages to stay on the right side.

A lot of people seems to be somewhat upset about the tragic events near the end of the book. I have to say that I was not too surprised and I cannot say that it bothered me too much either. I just hope that this turn of events does not result in Madeline going into sulking mode in the next book(s) in the series since I am quite looking forward to read the next installment.

This one was... annoying. It felt like the author realized she built up Maddy way too much, so decided she'd just knock everything over so she could continue the series. Meh. More like 2 stars, except there were parts that I really did enjoy.

Another great installment of the Madeline Black Series. I have always loved Maddy's character. She is stronger then some give her credit for and has learned a lot since book 1 about her self and what she can do and be. Beezle continues to be one of my favorite sidekicks. He provides endless amounts of humor to about every situation Maddy finds herself in. Most of the book revolves around Madeline helping Jude find his missing Alpha and the packs children. There is plenty of action as she fights off demons and humongous spiders that would give an arachnophobe like me a heart attack. Along for the ride is of course Gabriele the man that Maddy loves but that refuses to be with her. There are some great developments between them in BLACK HOWL as well as some major heart ache and loss. Lucifer continues to stump and surprise me. Just when you think he is using Maddy for his own evil plans he shows what is under his cold exterior and lets us see some real (at least it seems real) support and emotion from him. Most of the characters we have loved from the previous books are also in BLACK HOWL next to Maddy as she uncovers betrayal and plots that will rock her world even more then it was already rocking.

There were a lot of emotions that came out of BLACK HOWL and I was sorta expecting the ending news to happen at some point but it was still EVIL EVIL ending the book like that Christina. Just plain Evil. Dying to read book 4 and BLACK HOWL isn't even officially out yet, hopefully the wait wont be to long.
