This was a funny book I had a good time reading

boring.. read it for school and it was short enough that i finished it in a couple of days but i didn’t enjoy it.

Another great read by this author.

This is a nice quick and easy read for an adult, and it was exactly what I needed after my last read. Alex, Laurie, Sol, and Judge Trent are compelling characters built with both humor and humanity. I highly recommend this book for native-English-speaking (due to a fair bit of cultural knowledge) tweens and teens.

Sonnenblick has such a way with words and character development. Loved how he managed to infuse humor into an emotional subject, and it was also fun to have Cameo appearances by characters from his Drums, Girls, & Dangerous Pie.

re-read! giggling out again

Not a single person warned me to have tissues at the end. Take this as your warning!!

I loved this story from beginning to end. Alex, the main character felt like someone I knew in high school (I'm looking at you, Kliebenstein!) which made me love him instantly. Realistic and well written. The chapters are short, which makes it easier for a middle school child to continue reading. I am looking forward to reading other books by this author.

so far it's good but I continue to forget the main character is in high school. I picture him as younger.

Great fun to read. The main character messes up hugely when he drinks and drives, but learns a lot as he is "rehabilitated" in a highly unique way. He has to do community service in a nursing home with a cantankerous man.
