2 stars Audiobook: After having this book recommended to me for years by so many friends, I gave it a go. I struggled with this one. It went from being monotonous to semi interesting for me. The main character Joe, was too much inner dialog, repetitive and boring. His mantras ticked away at my cares about the book till there was nearly nothing left. When the book ended I was relieved to be finished. The female character ? I finished this yesterday and I can't even remember her name right now. I do remember she was an sheep. I don't care about sheep. Why were all the characters so stupid ? They were all carrying big stupid sticks, not a drop of common sense between any of them. I'm still dumber, I bought book two when I bought this one.

I believed thriller was not a genre for me. Maybe because I tend to overthink or become over-sensitive when it comes to reading or writing. Maybe because of the perception of having something flawless with a perfect ending, but I must say that Caroline Kepnes's series You made me fall in love with this genre, and I can't wait to get more to read or even watch.

The writing is superb, and I have to confess that this has been the sole reason for me to stay captivated throughout the book. I found many new quotes to talk about by sharing, but the best part of writing for me is when Beck remains confined in the Joe's Book Collection Section and the sentences she wrote on the typewriter. Yes, I can re-read those sentences multiple times just because of how strong the impression they left eventually.

I am trying. I am, but I'll admit it's getting harder to live with so much heartbreak.

It seems too similar to YOU the Netflix series on the first series.

Unfortunately, I watched the television series before I read this but like most situations, the book was SO. MUCH. BETTER. The details and following along in Joe’s thoughts - made me feel like I was him. I didn’t feel dirty or uncomfortable because I was so absorbed by his logic. I can’t wait to fall more into the story with Hidden Bodies.
