A positive note about this book is it brings attention to a dying person in a respectful way. Just like birth is celebrated, a person’s impending death should also be given attention. I feel like in the United States at least, death is generally an avoided topic. So I like the perspective from this book, which is to respect and accept the dying process.
As far as a novel, I don’t see the characters as very relatable or interesting. They are mostly so flawless and sort of surface level. I prefer novels where the characters are complicated and surprising.
