It has been literal years since I've read the Black Dagger Brotherhood books and I had stopped somewhere around book 9. I've had books 10 - 13 on my TBR shelf though and figured reading this would give me the push I needed to get back into the series. This really brought me back the joy I had when I first met the Brotherhood and reminded me just how funny and amazing the relationship between all the Brothers was. It helped jog my memory of books 1-6 and I'm definitely in the mood to keep going with the series now.

4 stars. Zsadist is J.R. Ward's favorite character. It is written. It is word. It is bible. That's honestly the main thing I took from this. The woman has impeccable taste and I'm not just saying that because I am absolute Z trash. Nope. Not biased at all.

While I absolutely loved all of the Slice of Life short stories about the boys and their shellan's my favorite thing about this guide was the way Ward talks about her writing process about the first 6 books. That whole section and her writing advice sections were the highlights for me. I loved the interview with the characters. My favorite interview was with V because it really put some insight into how she feels about his character. Then reading how difficult his book was for her to write, yeah, it definitely puts into perspective why things happened the way they did for V in his book.

I would love an updated version because I wanna see how her relationship with V is. Plus I would love to get her writing process for the rest of the books and info on the other characters. *cough*Torhment&John*cough*

I definitely definitely recommend this if you're a BDB fan. It's jam packed with tons of information about our favorite vamps. Just don't do like I did and buy the short story Father Mine and this guide because that is included in this! I didn't know that until I opened it and it's the first thing in the freaking book. *grumpy*

This is a fun book to learn more about the Brothers. There are some very funny parts in this book that make you think that just might actually exist!!

I'm glad J.R. Ward wrote this part of the book to give us a little more insight as to how she was able to write this series. I enjoyed reading it and the convos that she gave us to fun to read with Vishous.

I loved the short story, and all the little extras about the brothers. This is one of my favorite book series!

Honestly, the best part of this book is J.R. Ward's writing advice interspersed among short stories or mock interviews with characters from her BDB series. The stories or mock interviews don't reveal anything we don't already know about the Brothers from the novels. Some of it was kinda lame, TBH. It's the writing advice that makes this book golden. Without the writing advice, I would regard this book as a gimmicky cash grab. (It still is but all is forgiven b/c of the writing advice, ya know what I mean, jelly bean?)

I just thought this book was ok. The Z story in the beginning was good. But, I felt there was too much filler.

I truly enjoyed the more indepth look at Zsadist and his issues. It would be great if there were a few more of these short stories on the other characters as well. And I LOVED the character interviews, great great insight into the Brothers.

I haven't officially "finished" the book because the last portion is advice for writers, and I'm using it as more of a reference for my own writing - so I'll never truly be done reading the book.

Una guía sobre la Hermandad que hace pasar un buen rato, aunque no aclara mucho ni da más respuestas que las que ya teníamos de los libros anteriores, pero es una buena lectura para fans de los Hermanos.
