I’m still new to the whole script world when it comes to reading, however we’re looking at this in school, so I decided to give it a read. It was a quick read but a fun concept and was fun to read. It’s based off the American B movie and is quite funny. On my first time reading, I’m giving it 3 stars however this is likely to increase as I develop my understanding of it more in school.

Aah. I’m going to miss this so much. I really want to get a physical copy of this for myself because I’m going to miss it (mine is rented by the school because we did this as our school show).

From working on this for 5 months, I have developed a much greater understanding of the story as a whole and I have come to appreciate the moments of comedic genius. This play has so many fantastic one liners and truly hilarious references to other Shakespeare works that just really add a whole lot to the story.

I’m also a lot more immersed into the world of scripts than I was five months ago, and I can appreciate that the characters are never as developed as they would be in a book because it’s down to the actor to flesh them out. You have to infer things and work lots out for yourself, which is what I love about scripts.

I really love the characters in this play. They’re are so fun and easy to root for.

The musical choices are Glorious (see what I did there?) and they fit so well. They truly are great bops.

This has made me really want to read the Tempest now, so I’ll probably do that at some point soon.

I would really recommend watching this show if you get the chance, and if not, definitely read the script! It’s really good!
