I'd say this book was a solid 3.75/5 stars for me :) my biggest complaints were that the pacing felt uneven (the beginning felt slow to me and then the book ended abruptly as well) and I kinda wanted to yell at the two main characters through the book sometimes like SOMEBODY JUST SAY YOU LIKE THE OTHER PERSON SO THE FAKE DATING CAN END PLEASE. Overall though, this was a warm and fuzzy quick read and a great debut novel!!

Rebekah Weatherspoon has been becoming one of my favorite authors over the last year, however this book wasn’t for me. I really love the female main character, but the male main character & the story as a whole fell flat for me. I took a break from reading it at 30% in with the intention of coming back to it later, but I just don’t feel the urge to continue. I don’t really care how the story ends. I still look forward to reading more by this author in the future though! This one just couldn’t hold my attention.

I finished this book about a week ago so my memory of it isn't too fresh. The first 60 pages were interesting. I was wondering how the characters were even going to get together considering the circumstances Jacob being with Bethany's best friend in the beginning and all . I was almost about to stop because I was fearful as to where the author was taking this premise. I'm glad I continued because she actually ended up making things work out. Bethany and Jacob are literally so adorable. I'm not that far off from their age so I found it so comfortable and relatable reading about teenage love. I like how the author highlighted a lot of worries a person can potentially have when entering a romantic relationship. I found myself relating to soooo many things both characters were saying. Sometimes it felt like the book was talking to me in a way. It felt so nice to be so seen. It was nice to see relationship anxiety be depicted (from both the guy and the girl) in such a relatable way. Also, I really enjoyed the amount of representation there was in this book. I honestly want to find more like that because it was just so refreshing to read. Overall, a fun read! Definitely recommend it (especially if you don't mind YA)!
