I love how Czerneda approaches sci-fi with an emphasis on biology (and her stories feature real adults!). This is a fairly dense story with hard choices and consequences; the characters are so engaging and the story progression so realistic. Have to ding it a little because the sentence grammar is sometimes weird and the final chapters are choppy.
