Knew this was going to be terrible when I heard about it, read it anyway, and it met my expectations. Really annoying and bad characters, terrible names, boring overall.

This was good. I really didn’t know what to expect when I went into this but I enjoyed it. The writing style is odd like we were  liars were, but after a while you just get used to how it’s written. I honestly really like the main character and she did nothing wrong I mean she did but I forgive her. This also made me tear up at the end. I think if you enjoyed we were liars you should pick this up.

great book! loved seeing how cadence’s mom and aunts lives during their teenage years.

both the first and second plot twists (harris not being carrie’s biological father and pfeff dying) were predictable to me but i still enjoyed reading them. however, i did not expect the third one (carrie actually being pfeff’s killer).

Okkayyyayy sooo I like this book! When I write my reviews I like to minus things off from a 5 star review to bring it down to whatever review I want to give it. I minused two stars off.
I was reading with my friend and the one thing that we could not get over was FUCKING ROSEMARY
WE KNOW SHES DEAD OMG WHY DOES SHE KEEP APPEARING

Rosemary adds nothing I'm sorry but it's true. When I started reading the book I saw Rosemary on the family tree and I was just like oh ok who the eff is this and then we were introduced to her and she instantly dies and it's as if we have to care and relate to Carrie because it affects her so greatly but I could not give less of a damn about Rosemary and her stuffed animals.
Also whenever Carrie pulled out a fairytale I thought oh not this again, but I actually learned to appreciate them in a sense I really liked the use of the tbh💅💅💅👌
I literally lovevevvevelove the writing style like I know the broken up writing style makes people so mad but Idec I love it. It makes it so dramatic to me. I just felt sooo immersed in the story and everything happening I mean there was some drama. It felt like what was happening was real.
Honestly shame on the author for making me think Pfeff was hot and then he pulls THAT🙄🙄😣chile...
Even though Penny went through some stuff she was still a bitch🖕
Fupenny and bye pfeff
Anyways Me and my best friend demand a Carrie and Cadence ghost-seeing explanation because???? Girl where does the plot point go??? And Tipper can see them too???? Alrighty...🤨
I like this book 3/5 ⭐⭐⭐
I honestly like the characters way more than the first book but the first one is still better. Would still tell someone to read this after We Were Liars 👌.

Objectively this book isn’t bad, but it pales in comparison to the sequel We Were Liars and I personally didn’t enjoy it.
To me a lot of this book felt like filler, ESPECIALLY the entire plot with Rosemary, the dead little sister. OMG, I swear I reread the same scene with Rosemary the ghost 100 times. It goes like this:
Carrie: “Rosemary, why and how are you haunting me?”
Rosemary: “I don’t know.”
Carrie: “Okay.”
Rosemary: “Want to make bracelets and snuggle?”
Carrie: “I’d rather be hanging out with my boyfriend rather than my dead little sister, but I feel guilty, so sure.”
Imagine this, but painfully dragged over two pages and on about ten different occasions. UUGGHHH!
And why is nobody mentioning that you never even learn why Carrie is seeing ghosts! There is no explanation. None! I suffered through so many Rosemary scenes and I don’t have a reason as to why. That really bothered me.
Moving on, the characters were all quite one-dimensional and uninteresting. Carrie is the addict. Penny is the princess. Bess is the little sister. Pfeff is the player. You’ll learn nothing else about the characters other than what I just told you.
I did like some of the mini plot twists but the main plot twist
(Carrie murdering Pfeff)
was so predictable.
Especially because this book follows the exact same formula as the Sequel.

I could go on and on but I’ll stop here. This book was a lazy version of We Were Liars. I won’t be recommending it to anyone.
