Really enjoyed the series. Nice fun laid back and kinda goofy. It was neat to change dialect in my head to match the townspeople.

Actually a really good book that surprised me. It had me thinking "wow" and "what if" I enjoyed the idea of going "back in time" after having a stressful life and would it make it better. The characters were wonderful and I fell in love with them quickly. The book didn't get great ratings but I don't know why. People always talk about living in simpler times and that's just what John Campbell got to do.

Fun read with a lesson

This book took you back in time while still in today's world. It was fun, interesting and has heart. I loved the ending and the message. Would recommend.

Summer type read. Pithy. Fun. Unbelievable. Escapist material.

I don't know why the author thought it was a good idea to try to use phonetic dialect to represent their hick accents. Blargh. I hate that!

A real unique open leads us to a quaint town in the middle of nowhere that time has left behind.

While I have really enjoyed the book, the end was a little to neat. I could really see this story growing, but it felt like it was quickly wrapped and had a bow places on it. I wish the author would have developed the end a little more.

Also, it's never good if the book lists the life lessons at the end. let the reader take what they want from it.

Johnny made me think of Odd Thomas. Interesting story with a life lesson. The book description calls it a dark comedy. I wouldn't call it a comedy. Different or strange but not comedy.

Adorable

Life was simpler years ago and this book is the essence of the good life. Loved the East Coast references.

Definitely strange. One of those free books, not well-written, but OK plot-wise at least. Entertaining, somewhat.
