Engaging framing device and mystery. However, it fell flat for me in a lot of ways. It invoked a lot of horrific trauma without necessarily treating it with the weight and realism it deserved. There were also significant formatting problems that broke my immersion. It was interesting but ultimately didn't measure up to the hype. I personally wouldn't recommend it. Please heed the trigger warnings, especially for pedophilia, sex trafficking, torture, and rape.

I’m very conflicted on what to give this book. It is deeply disturbing, and I can’t say I enjoyed it. But the writing was good and the story was well executed, I thought, and I couldn’t put it down. I have not read anything like it nor will I probably read anything like it again

it was very intense. was not for me. it felt like there was an onslaught of information from the get go and i couldnt keep up with who was who within 10 pages of starting. it felt like it went to the extremes for the sake of it and didnt feel like there was any reason behind any of the novel.

 insanely gripping and completely unputdownable.. 

the last third is some of the nastiest, most stomach turning stuff i’ve ever read. my jaw was agape the entire time. totally vile & expertly told, what a story…

the content warnings are not a joke this book is filthy.

oh absolutely not. i feel so ill. 
i’m unbelievably paranoid right now, even though there’s nothing to be paranoid over. worse than any horror.
for some reason, i just didn’t stop reading. morbid curiosity i suppose, all for nothing with that ending though

anyone rating this higher than 2 stars should seek professional help
