I can't believe this book was released 15 years ago and this is my first time reading it! I knew from very early on what was going to happen, but it didn't make it any easier. This was a fun, heart-warming story filled with friendship, love and loss. I was never a cool, intelligent teenager like the kids in these books. John Green has a way of making you feel like you're leaving friends behind once you finish one of his books.

On a side note - I listened to this on Audio book and it was narrated by Will Wheaton. So perfect!!

Amazing book, my English teacher recommended it to me and I finished it in only a few days. If you were just told the plot-line you wouldn’t think it would be such a fantastic book. But Green writes for every use of the word FABULOUS characters you get that bond that few writers can create. He writes characters that make true and horrible mistakes and can follow it up by writing about how other characters cope with said decisions, it’s hard to write that well and he does it more then well. A book that will leave to puzzling your existence and meaning in the world.

I read it 5 years ago and I was so young I didn't even understand the deep meaning of this book so I only gave it 4 stars. I'm so glad I decided to reread it cuz I'd forgot what a masterpiece this is.

I can see why this book is a rarity in bookstores. Looking for Alaska is a poignant and nostalgic novel about a college undergraduate who memorizes people's last words named Miles and his quest for a bit more spunk in his life.

As he transfers to a boarding school quite far from home, he meets a miracle in the form of a bodacious and bipolar babe called Alaska who's in search of The Great Perhaps...

John Green is an excellent writer! He will reel you in and refuse to let you go until you finish the whole darn thing. Looking forward to reading An Abundance of Katherines.

I enjoyed how this book was so different than the rest of John's books, however it was a little dark for my taste. I was so excited to find out if Alaska was alive or not and I feel like the most important question was never answered. Frustrated that we don't know what happened to Alaska. The mystery finally unfolded and right when it as almost solved the book was over. :(
