This whole thing may contain spoilers, so be warned...

I don't know where to start...

Penny is the stupidest main character that I've ever had the displeasure of reading about.

Idk why the author thinks that if she makes her MC acknowledge the stupid/ dump things she's doing its gonna make it a less stupid/ dump decision, cuz it doesn't. It just makes it a frustrating story.

And about the writing, we were told some little things that had no importance and added nothing to the plot or the story; like that fact about "candy corn and how it makes her nauseous just looking at it"... and?
Or "the teachers dress is purple with black witch hats"... ok???
Such unnecessary  info*heavy eye roll*

Let's not get me started of her "trust" or the lack of it in Nash.

She gets mad about the whole town judging him for what his dad did, but at every suspicious thing happening, he was the first one on her mind... where's the love girly???

Their dad being arrested after finding only one of his hairs on the body???? Whatttt??? Grace and Omar were 17 and 16 year olds,  how tf have they outsmarted the police AND the FBI???

And the dad taking the fall and leaving her behind with only a verbal promise that she would stop? Tf is up with that? How stupid are u?

So u let yourself be locked up and u let the killers be loose? One of them living with your son that has no idea about anything?
Tell me Grace is the golden child without telling me. UGH!!!

Then there's the thing about the teenagers having absolutel  no survival instincts AT ALL!?

My head hurts just thinking about that.

And I'm not even gonna touch that ending. GAH! So annoying.

The characters make such stupid decisions and even acknowledge they are being stupid AND YET STILL DO IT. Then that ending are you kidding???? Why would a book end in the middle of the climax?! UGH I don't understand why my patrons like this author so much.
