I don't know why, but I love when there's a language barrier that the two have to overcome. This one was even more interesting than usual because Rukh doesn't even know his native language.

I liked the growth of the characters, but I didn't find the plot very exciting. It was nice change to see a different habitat on the planet, though.

This is another great read in the Ice Planet Barbarians series.

This may be one of the sweetest couples in the series so far. They really go through everything together. They learn how to adapt together. Rukh adapting to having another person around after being alone for so long and Harlow adapting to her new surroundings and having to make a new home from scratch for her, Rukh, and their unborn child.

I love how protective Rukh is of Harlow going so far as to put his own beliefs about the tribe aside and trusting them as much as possible when Harlow needs him to. And I love how Harlow teaches him hiw to talk to her and everything about mating and resonance.

The ending was great as well. I love that Rukh and Harlow finally get the family that they've always wanted.

Ruby Dixon is not getting into heaven.

She refers to a newborn infant's genitals with the same descriptors and vocabulary as she does adult genitals during sex scenes.
Rukh mentions looking at his newborn son's 'cock' and seeing it also has a 'spur'
She makes circumcision jokes. She yet again has characters consider themselves failures for their bodies being unable to support a pregnancy. Also the offensive plot of soft human girl being taken by the 'savage barbarian' who she eventually makes civilized is... so awful.

It is not worth commenting on other aspects of the plot as the stuff above is reason enough to NEVER bother with this.
