This book was so fun with a bit of spice. I love the food elements and the TV show aspects of it made the book.

Cute, fun, and light romantic comedy featuring a non-binary character and a recent divorcee coming to terms with her own queerness, all on a national cooking competition. Nothing spectacular, but it was the first book I’ve read with a non-binary main character and for that, I’ll give this book props.

Loved the plot and the characters! This is the first book I have read with a character nonbinary and I think that is great! I just had a hard time trying to figure out the POV at times and it confused me. Also, not big on steamy sex scenes. But in the middle I got bored and didn't understand why the author kept repeating themselves.

A cooking show with the GBBO-style glamor features people trying to be seen, and they see each other. As the show continues, they realize their attraction.

I don’t believe you can fall in love in a month. Obviously this is a convention of the genre and I think I should probably give up on contemporary romance since it always annoys me like this. But also… you can’t fall in love in a month! Not a real, deep, stable love. You don’t even know each other! It’s been a month! Ugh.

This was a cute and a little spicyyyy romance. There was definitely some sappy cheesy romantic stuff going on, which I personally loved. This was a pleasant surprised, I've only read 2 books with non binary characters but they were both side characters so I really enjoyed reading from the perspective of a main non binary character. This book was definitely eye opening to learn about what people who are non binary go through. I love cooking aspects incorporated into books and it was executed well in here but I did feel like it was obvious who was going to win the competition at the end so that wasn't as high stakes competition that I wanted. Then again this is a romance book so I understand that should be the main focus. That's just my preference of wanting to see more cooking show drama.
