I enjoyed the premise of the book and thought the first half was great...but...even if you suspended belief during the first half, it becomes increasingly harder in the second half. The ending felt rushed and really stretched any remaining believability. Bit disappointing then as it was on for a fun 4 out of 5 at one point!

Stay home reading rush #1 - Read a book in the same room the whole time (now I realised that I kinda cheated bcs I was reading it in more than one room oops)
This was good.
I'm a hoe for short chapters so this was a fairly quick read.
Overall, I liked everything about this but personally, it missed some big plot twist that would leave me speechless. Nonetheless, it is definitely a page-turner.

Wow! What a unique concept. I really loved this book! I enjoyed the pacing and the plot most of all. The characters, I didn’t connect with until the second part of the book. The second part really took this book from 4 stars to 5 for me. I’d been hearing great things about this book for a while, and I’m glad I decided to pick it up. This tense, thrilling, agonizingly high stakes book was a joyride.

RIP to a real one, Erick. You caught them, it’s over.

Beyond ridiculous. Feels like it was written by several different people who weren't communicating with each other. AND if you've just been reunited with your child who has been kidnapped and held hostage in a basement for several days... you WOULD NOT, I repeat NOT let them go to school the next day. That is just one of the many many ridiculous moments in this book. Extra star given because I finished.

A great thrill ride. Read it in 2 days.

Two plot devices that bugged me:
1) State troopers have cameras on their cars and the police would have been able to find the shooter.
2) MIT guy would have known to hide his internet searches -- he wouldn't have used Google!

Otherwise, a quick and compelling read.

The first half kept my attention and had me racing to find out what was about to happen but that last 100 pages made me want to claw my eyes out. I don’t know if it was meant to be a twist or if you were purposefully supposed to fully be able to put the pieces together but uuuuugh. Drag it out much? I’m disappointed in the ending 100%.
